Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

Clay Masks. Perhaps a boon and a bane for oily skin. Boon as it deep cleanses pores and effectively reduces oiliness, bane because it just generally comes with that tightening and drying sensation which leaves skin so parched. But this mask comes along and is just the opposite of these preconceptions.
Price runs from P500-P600 variably on Shopee

How to use:
After washing your face and applying toner, gently smoothen the product over your entire face. Avoid using the product on your eye and lip areas. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water after 15 minutes. (Use 1-2 times per week)

This mask is remarkably soft and full of moisture which almost applies like a rich cream. This is so unlike any clay mask I've tried before, that usually is thick and hardens onto skin like piled concrete; a quality I used to take as effective because it has a high amount of kaolin in it.

If you've heard of Charlotte Tilbury's Goddess Skin clay mask or whatever it was called, it claimed to be "will leave you moisturized, dewy and glowing whilst also tightening your pores and clearing imperfection" which is something I can parrot for the Innisfree mask as well!  It may not have all the internationally imported raw material Charlotte was bantering on about, but this pot of goodness is a superb clay mask.

Cleansed Skin, Prior to Mask Application

Mask on
After Mask Application
I have no knowledge on the Jeju volcanic ash but this will surely give that Spanish clay a run for its money. When the mask dries, which I might say will take a good ten minutes to completely set. It doesn't give any drying feeling whatsoever, considering that it's specialty according to its description is sebum control. It's so comfortable I personally think it can accommodate oily to dry skins since it has this very strange moisture from the clay, which leaves skin, after washing, very fresh and bright, and pores minimized to an extent but not permanently as you may be informed.

And this is something I didn't realize till yesterday when I was taking the photos for this post, but it's absolutely wonderful prior to makeup application. there's something about it that gives a very subtle glow or an slightly improved texture of skin under the makeup. I don't know if that's my imagination.

There is a Super Volcanic version of this which they claim is better for pore treatment. maybe I will get into that if I do run out of this pot but I'm very much smitten with this mask that I've taken to really applying it twice a week since I just love the feeling of it on my face.

This is definitely a great find from Innisfree, something you'd wanna check out if you've been with that standard clay mask, this might give you a whole different experience on them altogether.
