Gorgeous Mauvey Pink Lip Choices from Pink Sugar: XOXO and Queen Bee

And just when I thought I was content with my current Lip collection, there always seems to be some new release which gives me a case of  the straying eye. In this case it's the new offerings from Pink Sugar, a bunch of new MLBB nudes and pinks to pique your interest. Two that caught my attention are these very pretty dusty pinky mauvey slightly browny pinks, and let me add that cannot get any more longer as a description.

The Lip Collection

It's been ages since the last post so I suppose I'll have to make up for that with a more heavy composition. And I can say with confidence that this was the most time consuming roundup but certainly the least boring. And I think that as a makeup enthusiast, lipsticks are definitely that beauty product that you can really say that "Before I knew it I had 20." It seems that every few months or weeks that the number balloons.

So I have about 25 lipsticks but not all are in active rotation, sadly. And I think I have a couple here that are nearing their limit at 2 years old. But besides that, I'm pretty happy with my collection, they're like a family. And I sadly ran out of the Etude House Lip liners, a short-lived romance but nothing a visit to Etude House can change. No lip balms here as I only have one, as listed in my Skincare Routine 2015 post, I only have the Nivea Lip Butter in raspberry. So without further ado, meet the family!

5 Budget Lipsticks You Won't Need A Mirror To Apply

Etude House Liquid Color Lips in PK008 & PK003 Review

Every year Etude House releases some new form of a lip product. Last year this was one of them.

I have two bold colors, namely PK003 and PK008. Both are bright pink but with different undertones. Intensely pigmented and emollient on the lips, this one’s for every bold lip girl out there. But of course it can be applied lightly for a more subdued look.

CarmenClaire Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Raindrops on Roses and Shirley Temple

I feel like cobwebs have started growing on this blog due to the lack of posts. but I'm finally here to make it feel like the owner has not yet died. Just quite tired from work.

Carmen Claire Cosmetics is a local brand which was launched in 2011 I think, if you were a loyal reader, one of my formerly popular posts from when the name of this blog was The Secret Beauty Geek was that  of their Cover Ops Concealer/Corrector Wheel, so I'm no stranger to this brand, but I  haven't bought a product from them since I had other interests and their multiply store was gone. But my mother rediscovered them on Lazada and recommended their lipsticks, to my surprise it was Carmen Claire. Such nostalgia! Like seeing an old friend. Now I'm pretty pleased to try their products after so long.

Far left: Raindrops on Roses, Near Right: Shirley Temple
Price: P305 each

Description:
Ultra-modern and luxuriously smooth, these lipsticks are long-lasting and pack a powerful punch in the color department. Apply, blot, and apply again for chic matte lips, all day long.

Availabity: www.carmenclaire.com/

Any Printed label seems to wear off 5x faster in my hands

Hello Pale Grubby lips!
I'd recommend putting on lip balm or as Carmen Claire's recommendation, eye cream before applying if you don't have confidence in your lips that it won't emphasize dry peeling skin or flaking.
Wearing Raindrops on Roses
Raindrops on Roses is a lovely browny pink, very similar to Happy Skin's Under the sheets but true to the name as matte. I love this kind of color that doesn't look made up but looks polished and more on the natural side. It just ties everything together! It flatters a plethora of skin tones.
Wearing Shirley Temple
Shirley Temple is a classic deep red but better for warmer tones, It makes you look sophisticated, not a tacky red at all.

Both lipsticks are very pigmented, but not the smoothest to apply given that they are truly matte. And the characteristic of matte lipsticks is long wearing application. A great find since they're affordable at P305 and you get more than what you pay for in quality.

Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie Beauty In Bloom Duo in Bride to Be and Hold My Hand

And we are now officially half way into 2015, school's back and the rainy season has come. So many things happen simultaneously in June. And what else happens in June? Wedding season. Ever heard of a June bride? June is actually the most popular month for weddings, And that's the first thing that came to mind when Happy Skin launched the Beauty in Bloom collection.

Price: P1099
Description:
Nature is the ultimate beauty queen. Unleash the beauty from within and blossom into your most beautiful with the prettiest, natural lippie hues!

Celebrate a healthy honey-toned glow and rekindle the warmth of love with Hold My Hand.
Be luminous and natural all at once and channel the pink rosy radiance of a Bride-to-Be.

This Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me moisturizing lippie is sure to help you make that smackin' statement. This lip-loving moisture stick is loaded with Shea butter and collagen to get fans to line up for a taste of those supple, hydrated, and ultra-kissable lips. High-pigmented, moisture-packed, this lippie glides on irresistibly smooth (without the stickiness!) and leaves behind a rich, creamy pout that's way tempting to kiss.

This collection release is a tad different for Happy Skin since they usually release lippies in threes going on with a theme of a pink, a red and a nude-y shade. But this time it's a natural pink duo. Which I am loving at the moment. I think with each collection they release a new lippie they get more and more moisturizing and refined. I find I don't even need lip balm before putting these on since I

Bare Lips
Excuse my bare lips, looking as pale as ever. How I envy girls with naturally healthy, reddish lips.
Bride to Be
Bride to Be, a name that sends wedding bells to my ears, I'm wondering how many brides will actually be putting this shade on their wedding day, since it's such a natural warm pink that screams naturally pretty on lips. Great for everyday or for a special event. Matches well with heavy eye looks or just mascara. It's more wearable than Just say yes as it is a touch warmer and darker to the point that it has a mauve tinge to it.

Hold My Hand
Hold my Hand is a louder and warmer, leaning-to-red-pink-but-not-quite shade. Something you can sport when you want to keep things simple but still focused on your lips. Really gives back life to your face especially when you feel that your look lacks warmth.

No doubt Happy has done it again with these lippies, Definitely two lovely colors that deserve a place in your makeup bag as old reliable natural lip colors.

Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Lip and Cheek Mousse in Swept Off my Feet & Warm and Toasty

Last week, March 7, was my 21st birthday. So when a birthday comes there are usually gifts, I’ll be doing a what I got on my birthday post when my pre-ordered products have come. But first I’ll review these babies, which I have had on my wishlist since they first came out! But after much coaxing of friends and family I finally got both as gifts. I’m not very into shocking colors like red since I find they make my lips look small. So I didn't buy the third shade, a rich ruby red.

Price: P699
Availability: All Happy Skin counters
Content: 3g

Description:

I imagined that these were a more luxurious take on the NYX matte lip creams, which is right, From the applicators alone, they give a much more expensive feel. The applicators come in a fluffy doe foot the type that you'd see on fancy lip products, like YSL kiss et blush.

The packaging is so fun as well! Definitely a pop out in your kikay kit. But their not all for the looks, the product is very good. Just like the normal lipsticks, they are opaque and creamy. But think of this as the liquid form of the lipstick, but they last much longer due to the matte-ness. But not a dry matte, more like a moisturizing matte. Even if I had some dryness and flaking on my lips (Eww.) it did not emphasize such things. It just glides on like a dream on lips. And you can do well without any lipbalm.

SWATCHES
Warm and Toasty on Lips
Warm and Toasty is a lovely beige nude, giving that nothing on my lips but my good blood circulation! Perfect for complimenting heavy makeup looks or the perfect color to match a naked face makeup look. I love going for a flushed cheek and this nude color. When used for cheeks it is very subtle which is nice but it was so subtle it was difficult to catch on camera.

On cheeks
Swept off my Feet on Lips
Swept off my feet is a pretty and posh pink, It can go flirty and romantic or just a nice pop of color to an otherwise boring makeup look. I find that this is best used for cheeks as it is more visible as a blush. Great for travel when you don't want to to bring to many things with you and when you're in a rush, the formula is easy to blend so you can easily do this while commuting.

On cheeks
To sum it up: Velvet on lips. Hopefully they come out with more colors in the future as I personally enjoy such multifunctional products and love taking them around in my makeup bag for touch ups.

Etude House Color Lips-fit in PK002 Silhouette Pink

This has been back log for months now and I have finally took the effort to take pictures today. my laziness is infinite!

 Price: P498

Description:
This is a revolutionary liquid type Lipstick that moistly glides onto lips with its vivid color and finishes off with a weightless powdery texture.
Content: 10g

I was really in to lovely strong bright pinks a few months back and picked this up at Etude house. Normally I would have chosen a beige or orange color but this pink stood out too much and the pigmentation is a dream. So off I went to the counter. The packaging is also darling!

I might be too presumptuous to call this a dupe for the YSL Babydoll kiss et blush, but it may have a similar feel. As the color lips fit is a dual functioning product for cheeks and lips. It is a bit thick, similar to Nyx soft matte lip cream. It applies smoothly but be careful as the pigment is strong and making a mistake is very hard to correct.

It also has a perfumed scent, some may enjoy and some might scoff at but I don't mind. But beware that this is a true blue velvety matte finish, which I appreciate as an oily faced female but some might steer clear of that. For lips it is quite nice but I'm not very comfortable with matte products so I do apply some lip balm underneath or lip gloss over the top.

In Action on lips and cheeks
It is a strong cool pink that pops out nicely on a face, good for fair skinned ladies and would work for our morena sisters out there! It lasts long too, well that's an advantage of a matte product. Worth checking out if you want something multi-functional in your makeup bag.

Beauty Products I Currently Lug Around In My Makeup Bag

It's been a year since I've done a "What's in my bag?" post and the older posts are gone so to make up for that, I'm showing you what I currently bring in my makeup bag.

Blotting Paper
An Oily Skinned girl's must have and something I'd definitely bring on an deserted island. My favorite is the Clean and Clear blotting paper. I have a strange feeling of accomplishment

Neutrogena Shine Control Powder
For when blotting paper can take off the makeup at times, it's nice to retouch with powder. This is a translucent one, so no chance of adding cakey-ness to the mix.

ELF Studio blush brush
A handy brush to have on hand, wonderful for powder products and honestly I don't think I can live without this. And it's cheap and locally available too!

Versace Versense travel sized perfume
Got the set a while back and it's more convenient than bringing a full-sized bottle.

Etude House Lip balm
This is a no brainer.

The Face Shop Black Label lipstick in No. 2
MAC Lipstick in See Sheer
MAC Lipstick in Chatterbox

Must you question why a girl brings more than one lipstick in her bag? Hahaha. This is for when I feel like leveling up my look with a brighter pink or when my mood changes.

So what's in your bag?

Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Lippies in Honeymoon Glow and Just Say Yes Review

Another impulsive purchase from yours truly. Happy Skin is a Filipino cosmetics brand that recently launched last year. Good news that they now ship over to 250 countries. I love their brand concept of safe for skin cosmetics and their quirky packaging and product names. My review is on their latest lippie colors introduced into the permanent line, namely Honeymoon Glow and Just Say Yes.

 Price: P599 each
Available at Plains and prints stores or you can check out their websites for their closest branch near you
Content: 2.7 g

Description:
Whether torrid or tame, your lips will say it all! High-pigmented, and moisture-packed, this lippie glides on irresistibly smooth (without the stickiness!) and leaves behind a rich, creamy pout that's way tempting to kiss.

Swatches:
Bare Lips
Honeymoon Glow
A very warm my lips but better shade, how should I put this, hmmm... a warm terracotta nude in their terms, and would surely work out magnificently for warmer and darker skin tones. It's a great go-to color for those lazy errand days. It can be easily worn out for dates and events as it's so wearable it can transition into a classy night shade to a lazy day shade.
Just Say Yes
A bright pink, that's a step warmer than Pink Nouveau from Mac so warmer girls can pull it off. It's a nice pop out pink that gives a youthful feel for every woman. You're never too old to work that bubblegum pink!

Texture wise, it's not as moisturizing as a lip balm, give or take but it does not chap either, I'm thinking 20% moisture 80% pigment, which is vital if you want your lippie to stay on for a while as a too moisturizing formula will easily slip off your lips. And these babies have no scents whatsoever so rejoice sensitive ladies!

Overall a nice purchase, though there's slightly less product than what I'm used to, I'm very satisfied with their performance and pigment. I own over 5 Happy Skin Lippies at the moment so..

Etude House Dear my blooming lipstick in BE101 Review

I am a big fan of beige-y pinkish nudes and it was no surprise that I picked up this shade at Etude House.

Price: P478
Available at all Etude house stores
Content: 3.4 g

Etude House does not disappoint the girly girl with their pink and fit for a princess packaging. Although this is now repackaged in stores in Korea, not a drastic change but it corrects that stray lipstick bullet issue.

Anyways there is a lovely heart embossing on the bullet itself and a pleasant smell present even in their look at my lips collection. And boy do I love that scent.

Here's what it look likes on my pale lips.

Not too nude and not too pink, like a light wash of natural pigment on lips. And it is also quite hydrating. Of course the feel would differ on different skin tones but feel free to check this out at your local etude house stores.

And a good nude lipstick is never a bad investment.
